Am I dull?

Last night I was at a small group meeting and met some very interesting people. My sister had just seen a movie all about crossword puzzles, I can't fathom what possessed her to rent it, but I digress. Apparently, in the movie it talked about how some of the smartest people do crossword puzzles, like Bill Clinton who does his in pen! I can't remember all the other smarty-fartys who do them, but there were some smart people on the list. This sparked an interesting discussion about the value of crossword puzzles, one gal had even suggested that her coworker, whom she described as a bit dull, should do crossword puzzles to improved his sharpness.
This morning I went to USA TODAY's website and printed off the daily crossword puzzle. I grabbed my pencil and went to work. There were 67 blanks going across, and 61 blanks going down. I answered exactly 8 questions, and one of those was a 6 letter word for "Letterman's list", who doesn't know that? When I checked the results for the rest of the answers, 2 of those were wrong. So, now I'm depressed. I figured my mental sharpness had declined a bit since college, but now I'm convinced that I am, in fact, DULL.

Maybe the ones who are dull are those who sit around working crossword puzzles instead of being out living life. I too am terrible at crosswords but I am a great friend, mom, wife, etc. I am always on the go, watch little tv, try to read frequently, does that mean I am dull?
If so I am just fine with being dull - thank you very much.

Dull indeed! I'm right there with you. I tried one a while back, and gave up after I couldn't answer any of the first three. I'll have to yank some from my son's school bag and see if I can do those. :)
