The "Big Read Bus" (pronounced "red" because it's the color red) is highly over rated! You get to crawl up into a hot and humid bus while other kids are crawling all around you trying to choose their 2 books. Then you have to remember to bring them back each week. Don't feel too guilty.
Ceci we need to hook up! My 6 yr old (also going into 1st grade) would love to play with your daughter and we only live 4 houses away...she is always looking for someone to play with.
I can so identify with your struggles. I hate it when I cook dinner and my 7 yr old daughter turns to me and says I'm sorry but I don't like this very much in a polite/sweetly voice. I make her take a "thank you bite" and that is three bites one bite for one word because she needs to eat and learn gratitude for things that are given to her. As a working mom too I try and take a walk around the block with the family every night of the week. But then sometimes that is only two nights a week but it is something. Keep up the good work ladies.
Just a little FYI, if you are from the upper part of Michigan (the UP), you are a "Yooper" if you are from lower Michigan, you are a "Troll" (to the Yoopers)- because you live 'under the bridge'! You girls are doing great!
ohhhh it's tough to be a mom isnt it! I just had to take my kids out of one school (which was there first year at that school)and put them back in our "home" area school. talk about breaking my heart! BUT I was in the same position...taking them 20 minutes one way to school and then back to get them..waiting in the parking lot for an hour for the other to get done with this practice or that practice....it really wears on you! I understand wanting the summer OFF!!! I did the same thing! Im making your strawberry pie this weekend...cant wait, Im sure its gonna be so good...I was practically drooling watching you and your friend eat it~!!! how are you staying so skinny Ceci...? You look soooo great! good for you! have a great rest of the week....~H
I was sitting her thinking what the heck is a bionicle? So I looked it up..FYI I do not have kids so i had no idea LOL I was out of the loop lol Now I know :)
Mandy - Did I hear you on Northern Christian Radio a few weekends ago? We were on our way home from Manistee and I was so happy to find a Christian radio station to listen to while the kids were watching a movie. It was nice to hear a familiar voice!
Ceci - I am so bummed I missed the strawberry pie this year. I wish their season was longer!! You need to try a blueberry pie. Same crust, same whipping cream, just different fruit. I found one on D&W's website that is delicious! AND, their season is WAY longer!
I gotta second the love for the stay cation up north w/two TV channels, no internet and marginal cell phone service. Awwww yeah! That is exactly what its like at our cabin near Manistee. And....yes, you can hear Mandy on Northern Christian Radio!
This blog is meant to be an extension of my show "Connect with Ceci" on 99.3, Mon-Fri 10:30-3:00. I appreciate comments and insights, so together we can connect...with God, our community and the world.

Hey I bet you girls are great Mommy's :)
P.S. Still friends with Tommy Dylan? I was wondering if you knew where Tommy Dylan Works now, he doesn't seem to be at WCSG anymore??
Yeah, Mandy's back! Don't quit, I can't imagine mornings without you.
Tommy and Brooke are at WLHT now, they left CSG last Novemberish.
They are actually at Star 105.7, WOOD FM.
