Coffee Makers?

I need some advice from all of you coffee people out there. What is your favorite brand of coffee maker? Dave and I are looking to get a new one, and a good one at that and I need to know which features you find the most helpful. Do you recommend the stainless steel pot, or a glass one? I need one that is programmable for sure, but what other features do you like. I saw one with a water filter that I thought was cool, but is it necessary? I'd appreciate your help!

Ceci,
We have had the same coffee maker for the past 8 years - Capresso is the brand. It has a burr grinder built in and a gold filter that is reused. It has timer capabilities and also settings for How many cups and how strong you want your coffee. We buy Meijer brand breakfast blend beans when the go on sale for $4.99/lb and we brew a perfect pot of coffee every morning!

Expensive - yes - $250 - but no filters, it has lasted 8 years and still going strong and...you'll never brew a better cup of coffee.

The other end of the spectrum...Look upo Gevaila coffee on line. If you agree to puchase several pounds of coffee, they will send you a free coffee maker. That is the one we use in our camper...works fine.

But - if you can swing it - you wont go wrong with the Capresso unit!!

Blessings,

We have a Mr. Coffee. It is really nice....has a clock.....has a timer....has settings depending on how strong you want your coffee. It is very easy to clean and I like a clean coffee maker! It was under $50 and works like a charm. We did look around a bit....I have a Bunn @ work and considered those as well as others.....but I just dont think spending a lot of money is going to get you better coffee. Just my humble opinion! :)
