So funny ladies! I can totally relate. We are especially bad on the weekends with eating out. It takes time to cook and figure it all out. I don't know how I'd do it if I worked. Maybe you two are justified in eating out because you are working. I think you should give yourselves a break. I like to have frozen, yet already cooked chicken breasts in the freezer for quick casseroles. Goodness, I sound like I'm 80.

Friendly reminder: Don't forget the layered dip this weekend :)

Its hard to avoid the eating out trap!! Even if you have to do that, look for coupons to favorite places and order ONE entree for two people, since its usually enough to split. Saves money and saves your waistline! My wife and I plan our meals out a week in advance, building in a a couple of options to eat out and/or move a days meals, if something comes up and forces us to not be home for dinner :)

Our family eats out too much also. We almost always use coupons. However, I think our kids think Burger King and Little Caesars are part of our family. Part of my problem is considering clean up, etc. it seems like it takes longer to eat at home. We have 4 in our family and it always seems like we have leftovers for at least a day of 2 even if it doesn't seem like much cooking. (cost savings as well you'd think I'd get a clue!)

Rotisserie chickens go a long way for $5 (Family Fare). We also do a lot of pizza as that's what one kid likes the most anyway.

I still look for recipes, however, in the hopes that one day I'll actually enjoy cooking more. Here's a site that I was directed to: http://eartheasy.com/eat_one_pot_meals.htm
and this lady has a great cookbook: http://www.zonya.com/

Hang in there ladies! We'll do this yet.

I like the comments from the individual who plans ahead for eating out. I would be interested to know where you can dine out with a family of 4-6 for less than $20 and have a nice meal. We sometimes go to Russ's and bring a coupon. Pizza is inexpensive but so terribly bad for you. We try to limit eating out 1 time/week or two.Any ideas.

Want to eat for $20? We go to Logan's on Mondays or Tuesdays. You get two adult entrees for 12.99 and kids eat for 2.00 each. The menu is a little limited but still great food. I recommend the Kickin' Logan's Chicken Salad. YUM!
Your family of four can eat for 20.00 and the tip should be included.
