Here is the note Elliana's teacher left with me as I dropped her off at Kindergarden for the first time yesterday:
I gave you a wink and a smile
as you entered my room today.
For I know how hard it is to leave
and know your child must stay.
You've been with her for five years now
and have been a loving guide,
but now, alas, the time has come
to leave her at my side.
Just know that as you drive away
and tears down your cheeks may flow
I'll love her as I would my own
and help her learn and grow.
So please put your mind at ease
and cry those tears no more
for I will love her and take her in
when you leave her at my door.

Hey, I thought that was you last night Ceci!
I read the note when i got home, and i almost started bawling! But my daughter is my third one off to school, so i didn't cry too hard!! :)
I cry a little while sitting at Starbucks sipping coffee ALONE and wonder "why am I crying again??"
hehehe...
I am bawling just picturing that for next year for me. Did Elliana go easily? At least it seems easier than having to pry little fingers off of you. I hope it continues to get easier.
Oh - I remember that first day. They get easier. What a sweet note!
Neat poem! I forwarded on to my sister, her 1st one is heading off to Kindergarten. Mine are in 8th and 4th grade this year! :)
