"Soccer Mom"

When Dave and I started our family I decided I wasn't going to be one of those crazy "SOCCER MOMS". I was not going to sign my kid up for 6 sports a year, along with tap, ballet, gymnastics, cheerleading, fencing, tae-kwon-do, and foreign language classes. And for the last four years, I was pretty darned proud for following through on my promise to myself. I rationalized sending her to the Spanish Immersion school, because well, she was pretty good at English...why not pick up a second language while she's at it? And I did sign her up for a Kids in the Kitchen day during Spring Break, which was very cool, but just one day.

AND THEN IT CAME...

The Township pamplet outlining all the various sports and activities you can sign your kid up for this summer and fall. When I started to casually flip through it is precisely when I turned into a crazy person!
"Hey Ellie, how bout taking gymnastics this summer?"
"Sure Mom, that would be fun!"
"Ells, do you want to learn how to dance like a pretty ballerina too?"
"Yeah, sounds Bueno Mom."
"Oh, and how many weeks do you think you want to go to Spanish Summer School?"
"Quatro"
"And do you think you'd be interested in learning to TWIRL A BATON?"
"A what Mom?"

Looks like our gas budget is going up! Have fun running her everywhere while I sit at home drinking my ice tea this summer.
